outbreak case

Person involved in the outbreak as defined by the investigators. This can include both ill people (whether or not disease is confirmed microbiologically) and people with confirmed asymptomatic infections. Case definitions for human cases for most common zoonotic infections established by ECDC may be used as guidance (available online: www.ecdc.europa.eu). Exposure should not be part of a case definition.
