Sequence alignment

An algorithmic approach to find the best matching of consecutive letters in one sequence (text symbols that represent the polymer subunits of DNA or protein sequences) with another. Generally sequence alignment methods balance gaps with mismatches, and the relative scoring of these two features can be adjusted by the user.
