Equivalence Tests

Significance tests in which the null hypothesis is that samples differ to a prescribed degree. A significant result of an equivalence test comparing the effects of two treatments would support the alternative hypothesis, i.e., that the effects are equivalent. The size of the differences tested is generally the upper limit of dissimilarity that is considered trivial or not clinically significant
